Rangers check at the pier before departure. Carry €4 per adult in cash; card terminals exist but fail often.
Protected zones you cannot enter
- Pančeva oka and the pelican breeding reedbeds — closed to all craft in nesting season.
- Manastirska tapija and parts of the northern flooded forest — restricted access.
- Fishing requires a permit; a licensed operator handles it for you.
- Drones need written park permission. Flying one over the colonies will get you fined.
What's inside the park boundary
Twelve island monasteries, the Grmožur fortress, the Lesendro and Besac castles, six villages, the Murici beaches and around 280 bird species. Also, in a detail visitors rarely expect, some of Montenegro's oldest vineyards: the Crmnica valley behind Virpazar has been making Vranac wine for centuries.
